Bass Lake Panorama

One more of Bass Lake.  This one is a panorama I created on Photoshop.  This is a combination of 9 individual photographs, "stitched" together to show a very wide angle view.

Morning at Bass Lake

For those of you familiar with Bass Lake, you know what an incredible spot it is.  I've taken my camera there many times, but never felt satisfied with the images I made.  I've been looking at a lot of landscapes lately trying to figure out how to capture the essence of a natural scene.  In studying these photographers, I kept coming across people who would take the same scene or location again and again.  So I've decided to keep trying Bass Lake until I get some images that reflect the spirit I experience there.  This morning I was there before my first cup of coffee and the sun was very nice.  I decided to convert the shots to B&W and I'm fairly happy with what I ended up with.  A couple of these (the tree and the swampy area) have a lot of detail and the thumbnail size doesn't really work for them.  They are better viewed at a larger size.  I'll keep going to Bass Lake with my camera but at least I feel that I'm making progress.

Green eyes

Hopefully tomorrow I'll have time to get away from the house and do something different, but for today a quick shot of Mojo.  I like the shadows and the way the green stripes pick up her green eyes.

Gotta love a laptop

One of the things I love about having a laptop is being able to turn my porch into my "office".  This afternoon I enjoyed doing some image editing and drinking some wine.  In this case, the glass of rose picked up the sunlight nicely, so it saved me from stalking the cats for a desperate photo to post.

Apples in the sunlight

I was tired today and didn't want to spend much time shooting, so I just looked for the light as the sun went down and grabbed this image of some apples on our dining table in the late afternoon sunlight.  I'm enjoying experimenting with backlighting...

Floating on air

The mountains are so peaceful that when I meditate I feel like I'm floating on air........
