Night snow

This was a photo out our front door very early this morning (about 12:30 am) after we watched the Opening Ceremony for the Olympics.  Not a fabulous image, but I don't get many chances to get a snow shot in Charlotte.

Dining room reflection

I've been working on putting together our photo book of our Africa trip today, so I just roamed around the house taking photos.  Nothing too exciting.  The best ones of the day were of Mojo, but in order to not have images of our cats every other day, I'll post this one.  The reflection of our dining room in the mirror.  Tomorrow should provide some nice shots of Charlotte in the snow.

Shadow

Today I took a walk around my neighborhood to see what I could see.  Unfortunately, either I was just not very creative today, or our block, while a beautiful place to live, doesn't provide very inspiring images.  In honor of a rare, not very cold day, I took a photo of my shadow among the trees.

A possible miracle in the making

I've been out all day and we went to a dinner and movie tonight and just got in (The Blind Side.....what a sweet movie!).  So, not much time for photos.....however, since I haven't had a chance to take a picture of many miracles in the making, here's one.  Not that I'm crazy enough to think it will last, but Carolina is (at least right now) beating Duke!   Go Heels!

Two for the price of one

I'm just getting started working on our photo book for our Africa trip, so between that and other errands, I haven't had much time for photos today.  I did take a few of a new piece of art work we had installed in our house today (Carrie McGee is the artist).....our Valentine's present to one another.  It's not a good photo, but at least I took one.  Since it is so bad, I'm also including another one from my time in the park late yesterday.  I love this old train engine.

Winter Playground

It wasn't raining today, so I took my camera and headed to the park.  I decided to do a series of images called "Winter Playground".  My resident critic, George (aka...the Subject), liked this one the best, so here it is.

Tiptoes

I was setting up to try to do a side level water drop shot when this walked across my field of vision.  Since the water drops were a bust (I've got to get more light!), I decided to go with this one.  Hobbes immediately fell on his side and hammed it up for the camera and I got a few shots that were adorable, but this seemed more fun for posting (plus, I'm trying not to do images of our cats too often).  I'm realizing that I need to get out and about because I'm getting tired of looking around the house (so often in low light) for something interesting to shoot.  I'm ready for spring.
