Crawling out of the snow
With a major snowstorm on the way in Blowing Rock, it looks like this "woman" will never make it out before she's snowed under again.

Bistro Christmas
Out to dinner tonight and in a festive mood. Christmas decorations look so much better with a little snow.

Men at work
Some shots of the activity going on with our construction today. I give these guys a lot of credit for working outside on such cold days. The carpenter in the first photo told me that it didn't get above 11 degrees yesterday, but they were hard at work. The last photo shows what little heat they have to use.

Night lights
It's getting late, I have a cold, and I was getting ready to take some Niquil and crawl in bed to read. Of course then I remembered that I hadn't posted. So since it's night I have to figure out what to do with the available low light in the house (without too much thought). So, I chose a few lights, shot them from a few angles and called it a night. Hopefully tomorrow will bring a clearer head and a little more creativity.

Anguilla revisited
Today I was very busy and had little time and less energy for taking a photo. I took one of Suzy's paw, but I also spent some time working on processing some of the many images I had taken in Anguilla and never had the time to work on.....so, since once again I had a cat subject, I'm posting a few others for variety. I liked the one of George against the beautiful blue sky. We rented chairs on the beach from "Ray da man". and I wanted to get a good shot of the pier, but I didn't get it lined up right and we were racing to another spot to get to see our last sunset, so I didn't have time to get it right....maybe next time.

Spoons spooning
It's very cold today so I went wandering around the house looking for something indoors to shoot. I remembered a photograph I saw somewhere recently of spoons, and since I did a fork photo earlier in the year, I decided to do some spoons. I grouped them so they "spooned" and focused on the reflection of the lights. I darkened the exposure to give it a more abstract look.

Proper porch
This afternoon we had brunch with Pam and Edward at Proper over in Boone. When we were leaving I noticed how much I liked the way the porch looked with the Christmas tree in the corner and the snow outside the windows. Since it was so heavily contrasted (especially with the sunlight reflecting off the snow), I did this in HDR. I don't usually go for the "painterly" HDR styles, but thought I'd use it in this case for something a little different.
