Autumn Golf
I'm working with a group to do a brochure here in Blowing Rock and I decided to get some shots of the golf course while we were playing today. It was a beautiful day, but the sun was very harsh. These were my favorite shots. I like the autumn color creeping in...

Pumpkins
It's definitely fall in the mountains and of course Halloween isn't far away. These pumpkins on our front porch are courtesy of our friend John who bought them for me on Monday. It was pitch dark when I took this photo and I asked my able assistant (aka George) to "paint" the pumpkins with light from a flashlight. The camera settings were f/11 at 3.2 secs. and 100 ISO.

Bed
I don't know why, but I'm exhausted today, so all I want to do is crawl into bed. I just got ready to climb in when I remembered that I hadn't done a photo today. So I did a quick set up and got a shot of where I plan to be very soon. I really didn't want to turn this into a self portrait, I just wanted to get across the idea of a comfortable bed, so I cropped most of me out of the shot and softened it a little to give it an "off to dreamland" look....

My, what big eyes you have
I liked the way the afternoon light was shining through my sunglasses casting a huge shadow on the surface underneath.

Pam with wine
I had a wonderful dinner with my friend Pam tonight and I wanted her to be the subject of tonight's blog. Unfortunately, the wonderfully atmospheric restaurant (Proper....my new favorite restaurant in Boone) didn't provide much light for my cell phone, so there is lots of noise. Pam was looking cute as ever though and it comes through in her smile. All of the photos I've taken of Pam have been in light that was way too low. One day soon I want to do a portrait of her in good light (and with a better camera).

Bushy Mountain Bees
Today my friend John and I visited Bushy Mountain Bees so he could see what the place was like and to buy some new stuff for his beekeeping hobby. We had a great fall day.... had a nice lunch at Talia's in North Wilkesboro, bought apples, cider, pumpkins, etc. The bee place was a much more extensive operation than we thought it would be and while John bought his goodies, I roamed around with my camera.
