Boat

An exhausting, emotionally draining day with George's mom (although with good results) and we're just getting to the room.  Of course, no image, so I looked around the room for something a little interesting to photograph, and this boat was about as good as it got (either that or the ice bucket!).  Not a good photo, but at least I didn't bag the day.

Mask

We're in Greenville seeing George's mom and we're staying at a nice little B&B.  We were waiting in the "parlor" for his sister tonight before dinner and I was looking around trying to come up with a photo.  There was a mask on the coffee table, so here it is.

Another new toy

We're heading out to southern Utah in April and since there will be so many good landscapes, I finally broke down and bought a wide angle lens.  It's a Canon EF-S 10-22mm f/3.5-4.5 USM and I think I'm going to have a great time with it.  At 10mm it's hard to not get my own feet in the shot!  I love the distortion and I got several photos of my cats looking like they have big heads and long skinny bodies.  As I tested the lens, however, I was taking some shots of the cats on the stairs when George decided to come down.  I like this shot of him, and I love this lens!

It's a brand new car!

A completely cheesy snapshot tonight.  But since our car will never be this clean again, here's George in our brand new car!

New toy

Today I got a new toy in the mail.  I ordered a pinhole lens cap to use with my digital SLR, and it's a big improvement over my homemade cardboard one I made a couple of weeks ago.  So, I had fun trying it out  today.  It's different... since there is no view in the viewfinder you're literally composing in the dark, but at least with digital there is instant feedback to improve exposure and composition.  This photo, our espresso maker, was shot at 200 ISO for 45 seconds.  I really love the softness of the images and the colors have a nice saturation.  I think I'll enjoying playing with this.

Hobbes pouting

I've been working on a Photoshop workbook all afternoon trying to teach myself this monster of a software program.  But with all the time I've devoted to photography today, I almost forgot my post!  So, a quickie shot tonight.  When Hobbes is in a snit about something he sometimes goes to the corner of the sofa and curls up to pout.  So, since he was sitting under a light.....he was tonight's star.
